This is how the women pray in India-kneeling, bowed or on their faces. The Indian Christians consider the discipline of prayer to be work - hard work. They do not enter into the holy presence of the Father with flippant prayers or petitions. They agonize and labor in prayer. They always cover their heads with their scarves-which is a lovely expression of humility in my opinion, and I was blessed every time I saw them do and every time I did it-to go to prayer. They pray softy out loud and the sound of 600 women lifting prayers unto the Lord was so stirring that I can still hear the sound when I close my eyes. I learned much in India that I hope I never forget. I am slowly beginning to re-live the trip and God is gently bringing many of the memories back to my mind and allowing me to replay the trip in my head, now that the veil of sorrowing and grieving is lifting. I am starting to feel as if I might be able to catch my breath and exhale deeply. This has been a difficult summer to say the least, but God has walked with Craig and I through the valley of the shadow of death and is still leading us on. Praise His holy name. Blessings. jean
